2. THE EVENT

At 4:00 PM PT (7:00P ET / 6:00P CT) on June 17, a remote Twitch Gamesmaster will introduce the tournament, and co-ordinate the games, allowing participating streamers to stream as normal.

On the day of the event, streamers should signal their allegiance to their favored Council by adding their House graphics pack overlay to their stream in good time before the game commences.

3. GAMEPLAY

Prepare for 24 rounds of intense battle spread across approximately 6 hours, as every 15 minutes one of two participatory mini-games will be initiated, pitting streamer against streamer, and chat against chat!

  1. Game #1: Questions
Audiences will be asked a single House of the Dragon question and must add their answer to the Chat. The winner of the round is the streamer with the most correct answers!
  2. Game #2: The Dragon Emote
Audiences should spam House of the Dragon emotes using the chat emote ":VhagarChamp:". The winner of the round is the streamer with the most emotes!

When this happens, streamers and their viewers must work together as General and Army to answer questions and spam emotes across two mini action-packed games.

4. WINNER

At the end of each battle, the top-performing streamer will be announced as the winner of The Iron Throne.

Once a streamer claims the Iron Throne, they will be locked from winning additional rounds, allowing new competitors to rise to the top. Streamers who do not win a round can try again and compete in the next 15-minute block.

During gameplay, streamers and Audiences watching at home are encouraged to track the rise & fall of all participating streamers in real-time by returning to the Games Leaderboard on the campaign microsite.

    FAQ

To set up the tournament overlay, add a new Browser Source in your chosen streaming software such as OBS (refer to this link https://obsproject.com/kb/browser-source for assistance) and configure the dimensions to 1920x1080. Ensure audio control via your chosen software is enabled and position the source at the very top of your scene layers; it must sit above all other elements, including gameplay, PIP, and your local graphics package, to ensure full visibility. To ensure your streaming software can support the tournament overlay, you can also try testing this link battlefortheironthrone.com/stream-test/ by adding it to a new browser link (but ensure to remove it before the Live Stream!). If all is working correctly, you should be able to see the HOTD key artwork including smoke and fire ember animations. Depending on your House frame choice (static or animated), you can add this via an image or video source in your chosen streaming software.

Join the Battle for the Iron Throne on Wednesday, June 17, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM PT (7:00 PM - 1:00 AM ET / 6:00 PM - 00:00 AM CT)

Streamers will play as Generals, mobilising their Chat (or "Armies") to dominate two distinct challenges.

    • Gameplay #1, audiences must spam the chat with the correctly spelled answer to a specific question.
    • Gameplay #2 requires spamming the ":VhagarChamp:" emote. In each 30 or 60 second round, the goal is to generate the highest volume of emote uses to ensure their streamer emerges victorious.

There will be a total of 23 open rounds available to any player, followed by a championship round reserved for winners of the previous stages. Each individual round will last either 30 or 60 seconds.

Streamers must be livestreaming during at least one 15-minute competitive round. You do not need to stream for the full 6-hour tournament; join at any time during active streaming hours to compete.

The Battle for the Iron Throne event is a one-day experience. If you’re unable to stream, we encourage participation by tuning in to a participating streamer's livestream. Show your support by using the official House of the Dragon emote “:VhagarChamp:” and providing correct trivia answers in chat.

If you're experiencing technical difficulties, please head to the exclusive Discord channel to raise your concerns. Depending on the nature of the issue, please check that your Unique ID is correct and try resetting and re-joining the stream. Additionally, if your overlay seems unresponsive, please try refreshing it from within your streaming software.

Following each round, a victory screen will be revealed to crown the new ruler of the Iron Throne, featuring leaderboards that highlight the top 10 Generals and the winners of each round. To celebrate the victory, the champion will also receive dedicated, bespoke copy displayed directly on their screen until the next round commences.

Points can be scored by total correct answers, emote spam frequency, and quick response times.

Streamers who successfully claim the Iron Throne by ascending to the top of the leaderboard will be granted 50 Twitch Subs by the official HBO House of the Dragon Twitch channel.

Tune in to a participating streamer's livestream on the day of the tournament and help your favorite creator secure their place on the Iron Throne. Show your support by using the official House of the Dragon emote “:VhagarChamp:” and providing correct trivia answers.
